Smart Meters

Smart Meters have a wide application and are used to control all the grids, such us Water, Natural Gas, Electricity and Liquid Fuel. Particularly in Water Supply grid, Natural Gas grid and Liquid Fuel grid, it is also needed to consider both the supply as well as the quality of the available product.

With our Company’s systems dynamic parameters of the grid such as supplies, continuous data logging, consumptions and pressures at various points of the grid are monitored. Based on the values of these parameters, in combination with others, useful conclusions can be drawn both for consumptions, damages and losses in each city grid, as well as supply forecast in order to meet the future needs of end users.

At the same time installing our Company’s systems a Sub-billing method can be used. By installing such a method at every point where costs needs to be allocated, our systems can track the specific energy usage.

System Architecture

The Telemetry System consists of:

  • Central Telemetry Unit (CTU).
  • Autonomous power supply system.
  • The installation interconnection between the meters and the Central Telemetry Unit.
  • The installation and interconnection of the Autonomous Power Supply System with the Web Based Platform Central Telemetry Unit.
  • The Network Telemetry Platform through which consumption measurements are collected, processed, stored and depicted.

Indicative System Features

  • Consumption Indications.
  • Historical recordings.
  • Comparing consumptions between two or more different time periods with the corresponding.
  • Customized reports according to user.
  • Malfunction warnings (alarms) upon customer’s request.
  • Power Supply Indicators of the Central Telemetry Unit.
  • Possibility of keeping all indications in log file for more than two years.
  • Optional, online remote interruption of supply.
  • Possibility of billing services.

The CTU (Central Telemetry Unit) has integrated self-diagnostic systems sending related alarms concerning its operation. The operation of the photovoltaic (where required) and the battery charging are controlled electronically by the CTU.

All electronic components of the CTU including battery, are located into a locker, which is certified according to CE and ATEX. The seals through which cables are driven into the CTU, are also certified.

Web Based Telemetry Platform

The monitoring of consumption from all CTU is made through the Web-based Telemetry Platform.
The platform is Web Based and located in the server of the company. Accessibility to the platform is via any web browser, without the need to install any software on users’ computers.
Accessibility to the platform is done in a safe and very easy manner from the end users, by identifying users through username and password. Users can have different levels of access and actions depending on their corporate hierarchy assigned to them by the administrator system (eg. administrator, simple user etc.).
